• Event-Misc*: 17 June 1828; Wood Co., VA; Massey Savage Court Deposition (abstract): Personally appeared in open court Massey Savage and made oath that George Savage from the County Down, in the North of Ireland near Belfast Bridge Weaver to trade the reputed son of George a& Mary Savage of the County and Kingdom aforesaid And that the mother's name of the said George Savage, Jun'r., before her intermarriage with the father-in-law of this Deponent was Mary Hansey And that George Savage, Jr. the Husband of the Deponent emigrated to the united States sometime about the Month of May in the year 1771, as the Deponent believes and settled in the State of Virginia about 1773 and Married this Deponent in the year 1774 in the County of Loudoun and town of Leesburg Pursuant to public notice according to the laws of said state by Parson Griffith and this Deponent lived with said George Savage in the County of Loudoun in the said State until the year of 1817 during which time this said Deponent had by the said George Savage eleven children of whom two are dead and who were unmarried at the time of their death Eight still survive and are names as follows viz Robert, Jacob Savage who intermarried with Elizabeth French and has three children living & his widow this last mentioned son Jacob is the only one of the the married ones that is dead and makes the thrird one dead. Grace a girl who intermarried with George Langly (sic Longley), Mary a Girl who intermarried with Thomas Dowel, Wileman (sic Wildman) a son - Elizabeth who intermarried with Jonathan Nixon - James - Sally who intermarried with George Minnear who is dead leaving his widow & one child name Joseph Alesander Savennear Minnear & Joseph Savage who are the only descendants of the said George Savage.
