Tobias B. Batson^1,2

• Note*: All the Batson lineages that I can find have John Batson as the father of Tobias; however, I can't find one bit of evidence to support this assertion. Specifically, Tobias is not the will of John Batson. The 1850 Greene Co., MO census shows Tobias living adjacent to Stephen Batson, the brother of John. This is strong circumstantial evidence. Also, there are two Tobias Garrisons living in early Gloucester Co., NJ. The wife of Stephen Batson was Jane Garrison, daugher of Jeremiah Garrison of Gloucester. These are the only early Tobias Garrisons I can find in the US. This adds to the circumstantial evidence, so I will go with Stephen. As far as atDNA matches go, this choice should make little difference at all.
