  • Note*: It has benn alleged that Azubah was Azubah Harrell Knox & this has been copied by many. We cannot find one source that names Azubah Knox, although her age & birth stae suggest that she might have been a Knox. The 1850 & 1860 AR censuses enumerate a David Harrell, bc 1845, AR with Samuel & Azubah Eoff. Our conjecture is bthat someone thought that David was a son of Azubah & somehow recorded her as Azubah Harrell Knox. Since Samuel Eoff & family were almost surely the people enumerated in the 1840 Coffee Co., TN census, this David Harrell was not part of that family & not a son of Azubah.

  • Event-Misc*: The name of 2nd wife of Samuel Eoff has been transcribed as Feebe Beanes & Feebe Granes. The marriage record is a clerk's transcription of the original minister's return. The actual image looks like feebe beanes (lower case). This is probably what the clerk thought the name was. From the evidence found in the 1870 & 1880 Boone Co., AR censuses, the 1900 Izard Co., AR census and several Boone Co. cemeteries, I have concluded that this was Phebe Beavers and that the children enumerated with Samuel & Phebe in the 1870 Boone Co., AR census, were Phoebe's by a previous marriage. Among these children was the Martha E. Beavers that married J. K. P. Wooddy. From the ages of Phoebe'e children enumerated in the 1870 Boone Co. census.8,7
