Bartlett Bird^1,2,3,4

• Note*: This person seems to be the same perso as the Bartlett Bird mention in "A History of the Pioneer Families of Missouri" by Wm S. Bryan & Robert Rose. This Bartley allegedly was the son of John & Sarah Harvey Bird of Franklin Co., VA and he married Jane Jameson. This couple allegedly had five children: Mary, Edward, Abner, Marshall & Sally. the eldest being born c1797 & married 1812. The youngest was born c1812. Bartlett seems to have been in MS in 1820; however, he also seems to have been enumerated in 1810 Franklin Co., VA and 1820 Henry Co., VA. Our speculation is that Bartlett accompanied the General Jackson's 2nd Regiment Tennessee Volunteers to Nachez Mississippi via the Nachez Trail. This roadway passes near Lawrence & Copiah Counties.

Many of these men re-enlisted in September 1813 and were then put under the command of Colonel William Pillow, maintaining the same designation of the Second Regiment of Tennessee Volunteer Infantry.⁶
