Note*: I have posited that Lydia M. McCaffrey, the daughter of Washington McCaffrey is the Margaret McCaffrey, age 16, found with Bailey & Lydia McCaffrey in the 1850 Monroe Co., OH census. Since there was no female of this age enumerated with Bailey & Lydia in the 1840 census, Margaret almost surely was someone else's daughter. Since Bailey had a wife Lydia and a married daughter Lydia, using Margaret simplified things. So I posit that Lydia M. was Lydia Margaret. Margaret also works well as a daughter of Margaret Reubencan, a wife of Washington McCaffrey. Washington died in December 1845. However, I can find no trace of this Lydia of Margaret McCaffrey after 1850. Most of the McCaffreys, including Bailey, moved to Lawrence Co., OH before 1860.
