McCaffrey seems to have born near the time of the death in 1793 of his father William McCaffrey.William W. died about 3 months before Nov 1831 with no surviving children. His mother, Margaret, is recorded with an interest in his estate. Also having a recorded interest are Nancy McCaffrey Hamilton of Monroe Co., IN & William McCaffrey of Floyd Co., IN. Since William W. was born shortly before the death of his father, William, he could have had several siblings who were much older. If the siblings were also deceased, the the interest in the estate of William W. would have passed to the siblings children. So the William McCaffrey of Floyd Co., IN & Nancy McCaffrey Hamilton of Monroe Co., IN were either William W. McCaffrey's siblings or children of his siblings.

Was this her dower from the death of William McCaffrey Sr. Did the 1798 suit of Owen McCaffry vs Andrew Hood have something to do with this land. Andrew Hood was one of the court assigned people that inventoried the estate of William McCaffrey Sr. Only the civil court suit index is included in the FamilySearch records.
