  Sarah Brooks was married to David Brooks and he possessed a tract of land containing 150A on the waters of Little River between Big Saluda and Little River adjoing lands of Bartlett Satterwhite, Sr. In David Brooks' last will and testament, dated May 5, 1799, he appointed Jacob Robert Brown, Richard Brooks and Bartlett Satterwhite his executors. Sarah stated she never received any satisfaction in lieu of dower, Sarah had a child David Brooks. Defendants stated that during Sarah's marriage with David, she went away and continued with Elisha Brooks and lived in adultery and did not afterwards cohabit with David.
