The 1820 Lawrence Co., OH census of Robert does not include this male born in 1784-1794 and all the rest of the children are accounted for. The 1830 Lawrence Co. census shows James living very near Robert. It appears that Robert had another son (b 1784-1794) that is not accounted for. Could this have been the John living in Windsor Twp. Lawrence Co. in the1820 census. He was the right age. Also, a John died here sometime between Oct 5, 1830, when his will was witnessed, and before Nov 29, 1830, when his will was produced by John Layne and contested by brother Robert McCorkle, his "nearest of kin" residing the Lawrence Co. This would give Robert two sons named John: Not likely.

  Yesterday morning about 2 o'clock, Mr. George Noyes, a Private in Capt.
  Snyders Company of Militia men from Rock House Prairie, Buchanan Co., MO.,was instantly killed in the following manner: Capt. Snyders men were quartered in the store of POWELL, LEVY & LEMON,one in the block burned down two years ago corner of Felix and 3rd streets. There is an opening or hatchway in the different floors through which goods can be drawn up to the 3rd story from the cellar. The opening in the floor on the street was covered with boards, on which two men were sleeping, named NELSON WITT and Wm. Arnold. The openings on the two floors above were uncovered, and orders were given to the men to remain on the main floor. Mr. Noyes was up til 2 o'clock reading a newspaper. At that time he was heard to go upstairs into the upper room. He walked towards the hatchway, fell down through the two
  openings and struck the two men sleeping on the covering to the lower opening, killing him instantly, and very severly wounding the two men. Mr. WITT is dangerously injured, and Mr. Arnold is severly, though not as badly hurt. Mr. Noyes was aged 40 years, was perfectly sober, and leaves a wife and four children in straitened circumstances.
